Finding a winner

The traditional way of finding a winner

Reviewing a form guide to find a winner has been a traditional approach used by punters for decades.

This is a personalised experience purposefully unique to every punter.

There are dozens of data points which can be chosen, providing potentially millions of formula combinations.

The average punter has a consistent approach when searching for a potential winning horse. In most cases they start by looking through a form guide, either from the daily newspaper or online.

Every punter has their own unique selection process which they follow religiously for every race. For example, some prefer looking for past race results as an important indicator of a potential winner. Others look for horse speed from barrier, while others look at barrier draws.

Most punters have multiple selection criteria combinations.

This is a repetitive and time consuming process.

It is further complicated by live fluctuations on race day, such as horse scratchings, weather changes, track condition changes and other variables.

Printed form guides are static and not able to be updated with up-to-the-minute information.
